The Magic of Monterey
I feel extremely grateful to have people to visit in Monterey.
Living here was incredible. I'd wake up early to the foggy morning, walk just a few steps down to the ocean, and sit on a rock to pray or ponder. (I sound so delightful don't I? ha!)
I would go for a run along the emerald colored coast, starting at Lover's Point, running all the way down to the aquarium. I loved smiling at all of the people enjoying their morning; I'd get lasting energy from it.
Runners, walkers, movers, shakers. I would finish, to grab a coffee and a bite, at Pavel's Backerei or Crema downtown. It was remarkable; I felt so alive being outdoors and surrounded by happy people.
I never realized how much I enjoyed living in a walkable city; having a grocery store, coffee shop, and the beach, all in walkable distance was the sweetest treat. It was tough leaving last December but I am fortunate to have lived here and to still have the opportunity to play tourist every so often. I have a feeling I will end up here again one day...
